A little intro on the what, how and why of this Journal

Welcome, and thank you for being here.

The OAAK Journal is a collection of spaces, places, and stories to spark your imagination and creativity. It’s a space for design lovers, curious travellers, and anyone seeking greater meaning in the environments they inhabit or explore.

This journal is deeply personal to me. I originally started OAAK Collective with the aim of collaborating and connecting professionals in the architecture and design space while also providing advisory and advocacy for clients. But over time, I realised my favorite part of the work was telling the stories — the owner behind the business, the reason a home was designed in a certain way, the experiences that shaped someone’s vision, or why something was created.

I’ve always been fascinated by the “why” — the psychology of human creativity and how the spaces we inhabit shape who we are. That’s what inspired me to create The OAAK Journal — a space where I can share these stories and discoveries.

And along the way, I’ll share homewares and products that embrace raw materials, minimalism, and intention — pieces that bring beauty and meaning to everyday living.
